Holaa!! We’ve got just the thing for you
Ok so you graduated from the academy (probably the KABK).. now what? You’ve just cleaned your space at the academy and you feel as empty as your former exhibition space. Now you’ve got all this time on your hands and no clue what to do with all that stuff (in your head). We’ve got just the thing for you: HOLAA Festival!
It can be difficult to be on your own now. Sure, it’s a relief at first, but who is gonna give you feedback? Where do you get your materials, inspiration, critical voice, etcetera?
Luckily you’re (still) in the Hague and this weekend there’s the HOLAA Festival. The Holaa! Festival is an intimate, small-scale art festival in The Hague. Enjoy contemporary art, discover art in unexpected places and talk to the makers, experts and to each other. For Free!
26 initiatives and galleries are open: 1646, A Gallery Names Sue, Baracca, Durst Britt & Mayhew, Galerie Maurits van de Laar, Grafische Werkplaats, Heden, Hoorn & Reniers, JCA De Kok, Liefhertje en de Grote Witte Reus, Livingstone Gallery, Moose Space, Nest, No Pressure Project Space / Trash the House, Nouvelles Images, Nutshuis, Parts Projects, Peer In, Quartair, Refunc, Ruimtevaart, Spanjaardshof, Sue-Das Lab, Twelve Twelve Gallery, West in Huis Huegetan and Billytown
And you’re probably short on money, I reckon? While visiting all these places, you can collect Holaa stamps and get a chance of winning a Holaa artwork, also for free. Be sure to hand the full stampcard at Galerie Maurits van de Laar, 5pm at 9 july tops!
Our editior, Connie van Driel, went to the Ruimtevaart Art Fair during Holaa, a small and intimate artfair with the artwork of one artist: Natasja van Kampen. Here’s an impression:
